(Hebrew: Elohim — the power)
- The only true God (Jn 17:3; 1 Cor 8:6)
- The Sovereign Lord, Owner, King, the Boss (1 Chron 29:11-12; Ps 115:3; Job 42:2; Is 46:9-10; Col 4:1) on a mission to make all things new (Rev 21:5)
- Judge: He shall judge the world in righteousness (Psalm 9:8) quoted in Acts 17:31
- Creator of the heavens and the earth (Gen 1:1)
- His Spirit (wind) is involved in creation (Gen 1:2) and is everywhere
- He is spirit (Hebrew: breath, wind) (Jn 4:24), invisible (Col 1:15), self existent (I am that I am) (Ex 3:14), one singular person (unit) (Is 44:6,8; Is 45:6,21; 46:9-10)
- Holy — pure, set apart, unique, perfect, majestic (Is 57:15; Ex 15:11)
- Speaks and acts–He is a person: ‘And God said “Let there be light” and there was light’ (Gen 1:3). Spoke to Adam and Eve, (our original parents) (Gen 3:8-13), Moses (writer of the Torah) (Ex 3:3-4:17) and many others–suggest reading Old and New Testament
- Created Adam and Eve (and their offspring) in His own image to have a mutual relationship with Him and by speaking and doing, reveals who He is
- Merciful and gracious, long-suffering (slow to wrath), and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that by no means clear the guilty; visiting (registering) the iniquity (perverseness) of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation (Ex 34:5-7); (spoken to Moses.)
- Is just and righteous in nature and can’t act otherwise because of His holy nature against the unrighteous. ‘He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: A God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He’ (Dt 32:4; Book of The Revelation of Jesus Christ: the final judgment by God on mankind and the restoration of His creation)
- Advocates for the poor, alien, orphan, widows and oppressed (Jer 5:5-7; Prov 22:22-23; Zec 7:10)
- Commends His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Rom 5:8)
- Faithful (Deut 7:9; 1 Cor 1:9)
- He cannot lie (Tit 1:2)
- He cannot die (1 Tim 6:16)
- He cannot deny Himself (2 Tim 2:13)
- He cannot be tempted with evil (Js 1:13)
- He can do all things if it is possible (Mt 19:26)
- He knows all things if they are knowable (1 Jn 3:20; Ps 139)
- He is eternal, always has been, and had no beginning (Is 43:10; Ps 106:48)
